At the Bangor Church of the Nazarene, we believe young people are the pathway to the future. One of our greatest priorities is nurturing children and supporting their families. Our desire is to come alongside parents and guardians as partners in the sacred responsibility described in Book of Proverbs 22:6:
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
We offer Sunday morning children’s teaching through age-appropriate Sunday School classes for all grade levels. In addition, our midweek scouting ministry, CARAVAN, helps children develop practical life skills such as cooking, computer basics, hygiene, sewing, camping, fishing, and more. When combined with strong biblical application, CARAVAN becomes a unique and effective way to teach godly principles alongside hands-on learning.
Our children also enjoy our Upward Sports Ministry during Fall Soccer, where kids are encouraged to “Play with Purpose”—experiencing friendly competition while learning Christian values and character. In addition, each summer we host Vacation Bible School (VBS), the highlight of the summer for our Children’s Ministry. This year’s superhero-themed VBS, “Jesus Is My Hero”, promises to be an exciting and faith-filled experience.
Throughout the year, we host several family-centered events designed to bring fun and connection. Our Fall Fun Festival invites the whole family to enjoy games, refreshments, puppets, and prizes. During the Easter season, our Resurrection Celebration offers egg hunts, crafts, games, and—most importantly—the powerful story of Christ’s resurrection.
We truly love children and families, and we would be honored to have you join us. Our goal is to help families grow spiritually stronger together as we walk with the Lord.
