About Nazarene Missions

World and local outreach is an important part of the Church of the Nazarene. At the Bangor Nazarene Church, we are proactive in spreading the Gospel message through the surrounding area and throughout the globe. We engage in Fund the Mission to reach people in 165 countries and territories worldwide. We also sponsor several missionary families serving in foreign lands. In addition, we have several local endeavors in which we specifically aim to reach and commune with the people of the local area. We are a church that believes in the Great Commission, that calls God's people to tell the story of Jesus and the Good News of salvation, and to make disciples of all nations.

World Evangelism Fund and Faith Promise:

The World Evangelism Fund is the resource in which each Nazarene Church contributes to Fund the Misssion that reaches people for Christ around the world. Faith Promise is our local church's endeavor to raise funds to assist with the World Evangelism Fund, along with local and domestic projects to reach and help people right here at home. • PRAYER. NMI gathers believers together for prayer in the local church, linking us to our brothers and sisters in Christ across the globe.

• WORLD EVANGELISM FUND, which fuels the Church of the Nazarene’s mission by combining gifts from each person and church to fund ministries everywhere.

• ALABASTER OFFERING, ministries around the world receive funds to purchase property and buildings.

• ENGAGE CHILDREN AND YOUTH through education and fostering calls to missions.

• CARE & CONNECTION strategically connects Nazarene missionaries and Nazarene churches through prayer, personal contact, and generous giving.

Projects

Serving communities & the World in faith and action.

The Blue Valley Farm Show is one of the more popular ministries that our MNI participates in each August. At our station, we give out school supplies to all area students along with a backpack for the coming school year. Almost all the materials are donated by our church parishioners and are distributed by the men and women of our congregation over the six-day community event. We also get a chance to help people by praying for their needs and offering encouragement to those who need uplifting.

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, that collects and delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world. The project aims to share the "Good News of Jesus Christ" with children and their families, and each shoebox is packed with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, along with a booklet of the New Testament in the child's language.

Sweet & Discreet is a ministry of our local Nazarene Church that supplies ladies of the community with feminine hygiene products at no cost. Our Sweet & Discreet doors are open on the 4th Saturday of each month at the Church from 9:00 - 11:00 am. All women are welcome to come and receive products, refreshments, support, and encouragement.

The Bangor Church of the Nazarene is a proud supporter of the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Child Sponsorship Program that provides meals, clothing, medicine, and other life needs to children in foreign countries.
